Responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of dairy manufacturing facility.  Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure work is performed safely, on time, and within quality specifications. Provides leadership to the site’s management team and management staff’s direct reports. Ensures growth and profitability by achieving both short term and long-range financial objectives; responsible for operating activities, to include revenue and sales growth; expense, cost and margin control; and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management.


  • Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, human resources, finance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product formulations, and operating or production problems.
  • Consults with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards.
  • Responsible for P&L for operations and execution of strategic plan; develops budget and cost controls, establishes human capital plans, workforce planning parameters, and overall manufacturing key performance indicators.
  • Works with finance and accounting to develop operating budgets; human resources to develop human capital plans; sales and marketing to develop revenue-generating streams; engineering personnel relative to modification of equipment in order to improve production and quality of products; logistics and warehousing to ensure accurate deployment of inventory.
  • Monitors all key metric reports to ensure achievement of financial, safety, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
  • Interfaces and acts as liaison with customers, contractors, and suppliers. 
  • Organizes the management talent base for efficient operations; promotes opportunities for management to upgrade skills through training sessions and seminars.
  • Builds the talent of the management team and development of the site’s managers.
  • As required, coordinates and monitors plans for reductions in cost and product lead times for existing and new products
  • Directs the implementation of advanced technology to aid in reaching production goals.
  • Oversees the programs that ensure a healthful and safe working environment and to comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Prepare and present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statues and rulings, and other items affective businesses or program services.
  • and/or support various changes within the company needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness
  • Drive problem solving with respect to production, logistic, and quality issues within assigned plants.
  • Accountable for the investigation, development, commissioning, and verification of production and quality systems for new products and brand extensions for company products manufactured at the site.
  • Participate in the overall research and development budgeting process for new prototypes including equipment needs.
  • Responsible for all quality activities from early development to commercialization and process capability verification.
  • Promote and provide excellent customer service with all customers.
  • Foster an “open door” policy for all employees to maintain an open line of communication between direct reports and management staff.
  • Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. 2000 – Level 3.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a science; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in management positions utilizing a combination of technical, managerial, and financial expertise; several years’ experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Versed in Six Sigma, 5S, and quality protocols, problem solving focusing on Continuous Improvement.
  • Ability to identify what needs to be done and take action before being asked
  • Ability to trust, develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously


  • Knowledge of principles, methods and problems of operating business functions
  • Knowledge of general computer functions such as Microsoft Office programs, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Knowledge in GMP/cGMP, applicable SQF regulations, USDA guidelines and FDA regulations as related to the food and beverage industry
  • Knowledge/experience in conducting production and quality systems assessments for manufacturing locations and suppliers
  • Knowledge of GMPs in dairy/food/beverage product manufacturing
  • Knowledge of packaging systems including plastic bottles, cartons
  • Knowledge in wastewater and water treatment processes
  • Skill in identifying and developing personnel for succession planning via skill-based assessments, annual performance appraisals, PDP’s
  • Skill in implementing and supporting various changes within the company needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness using lean initiatives.
  • Skill in analytical thinking by approaching issues with creative problem solving methods (I.e.; Identifying the problem, root cause(s), collection of data, and quantitative based decisions)
  • Skill in defining objectives and strategies to meet customer requirement and organizational goals/objectives
  • Skill to actively seek out and identify opportunities
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level with customers, providing service and solutions to their product needs. Ability to gather information, marshal resources and eliminate problems with a strong sense of urgency and in an efficient and effective manner.
